Each school Principal determines the level of restriction of YouTube at a school from completely blocked to who can approve content.

YouTube restrictions have been implemented to filter content to the appropriate level.

Frequently Asked Questions

 When I search for a video it tells me I'm restricted (Staff)

If you are a staff member and receive either of the below messages when trying to search for a video please ensure you’re signed into YouTube using your @Catholic.tas.edu.au email account.

  • Click on the circle in the top right hand corner to check who is signed into YouTube.

 When I search for a video it tells me I'm restricted (Student)

If you are a student that receives the below message please talk to your teacher who will contact your school IT for the video to be approved.

  • Ensure you let the teacher know why you wish to access the YouTube material

 Your link to a video doesn’t work anymore?

If you have a direct link to a video and are receiving the below message contact your school IT to investigate

 Can’t find the video you’re looking for?

If you’re unable to find the video you’re looking for it’s possible that it has been blocked automatically by YouTube. To request a video to be unblocked please contact your school ICT via email or phone.

  • ICT will investigate the reason why the video was blocked and depending on that reason will confirm with appropriate parties the next steps forward
