Document Overview

This document outlines how to add access to your Gmail account on an Apple device.

Please ensure you have a passcode set on your device.

Instructions

Step 1

Go to the App Store on your device.

Step 2

Type Gmail in search bar, tap on Get.

Step 3

When downloaded, the Gmail App will appear on your device.

Step 4

In the top right, tap your profile picture or initials if you have not created a picture.

Step 5

Tap Add another account.

Step 6

Choose the type of account you want to add.

Step 7

If you are adding your work or school email, choose Google.

Step 8

Type in your email address eg, firstname.lastname@catholic.tas.edu.au.

Step 9

Next you will see the CEnet login screen, as below.

Step 10

Type in your account username (firstname.lastname) and password.

Step 11

Follow the steps on the screen, your Okta Verify screen will appear.

Step 12

Ensure you have send push automatically ticked, then choose Send Push

Step 13

Confirm on OKTA.

Step 14

Go back to your Gmail app, confirm your email is downloading by tapping email account just added.

Trouble Shooting

Messages on the Gmail app stay separate for each account.

  • On your iPhone or iPad, open the Gmail app .

  • In the top right, tap your profile picture or initial.

  • Tap the account you want to use.

How to set a Passcode

  1. Go to Settings , then do one of the following:

  2. On an iPhone with Face ID: Tap Face ID & Passcode.

  3. On an iPhone with a Home button: Tap Touch ID & Passcode.

  4. Tap Turn Passcode On or Change Passcode.
