FortiClient VPN - Download and Installation

This document will cover the download and installation of Forticlient VPN on both MacOS & Windows. There will also be a link to Troubleshooting & other info

Installation

Prior to Installation of the new Client the old Client must be removed. Click here for the process.

  1. Download the Forticlient installer from here.

  2. Locate the installer in your downloads folder and double click

  3. ForticlientUpdate window will open. Double click FortiClientUpdate

  4. FortiClient VPN installer will download the software. When download is done click Install

  5. When the installation client pops up hit Continue on the next two screens

  6. On the following two screens hit Agree, then Install

  7. There will be a pop up asking for Admin credentials - if you don't have those speak to your local ICT Support

  8. Next is a pop up FortiTray would Like to ADD VPN Configurations. Click Allow. Installation will complete. Hit Close when it’s done

     

  9. Restart your computer, then proceed to Configuration section of this article

Installation

  1. Download the Forticlient installer from here.

  2. Locate the installer in your downloads folder and double-click execute

  3. When UAC asks if you want to allow the app to make changes to your device click Yes

  4. FortiClient Installer will download the image and then proceed to setup

  5. Tick the Yes I have read the licence agreement box and hit Next

  6. Click Install, wait for the installer to finish then click Finish

  7. Open the Forticlient VPN, tick the Acknowledge box and click I Accept

  8. Restart your computer, then proceed to Configuration section of this article

Configuration

Configuration

  1. Open the Forticlient Console

  2. Click Configure VPN

  3. Select the SSL VPN tab and add the following

  4. Connection Name: Connect to CET Network

  5. Remote Gateway: remote.catholic.tas.edu.au

  6. Customise port: 4444

  7. Uncheck: Enable Single Sign On

  8. Client Certificate: None

  9. Authentication: Prompt on login

  10. Uncheck: Enable Dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 address
